Peppermint Plaza: A World of Holiday Magic in the Heart of Houston

The holidays are officially lighting up Downtown as Peppermint Plaza brings its festive charm back to Avenida Houston! From November 22 through December 25, 2025, the plaza outside the George R. Brown Convention Center transforms into one of the most exciting Houston holiday events, filled with culture, music, twinkling lights, and family-friendly fun.

This year, the celebration gets even brighter with the arrival of a 42-foot Christmas tree shimmering with 27,000 twinkling lights. Standing tall at the Plaza, this dazzling centerpiece promises to be one of the most photographed holiday lights displays in Houston, offering the perfect backdrop for seasonal selfies and magical moments.

A Forest of Christmas Wonder

Visitors can also enjoy a breathtaking showcase of 16 beautifully decorated Christmas trees inside the Grand Holiday Window facing Avenida de las Américas. Each tree is uniquely designed and displayed in support of the Alley Theatre’s educational, community, and artistic initiatives. It’s a heartwarming blend of art, tradition, and holiday cheer—all in one place.

Holiday Performances Celebrating “A World in a City”

Every Saturday evening, Peppermint Plaza comes alive with holiday-themed live musical performances on the Main Stage at Avenida Plaza. Inspired by this year’s theme, “A World in a City,” each show highlights cultures and traditions from around the globe—perfectly reflecting Houston’s reputation as one of the most diverse cities in the country.
