Avenida Houston is located in the heart of Downtown Houston and offers many ways to explore the rest of the city. Whether you’re looking to walk, bus, bike or drive, we have you covered. 

No matter how you arrive at the Avenida Houston campus, you several parking options:

Avenida North Garage

This 1,820-space garage is connected to the north end of the George R. Brown Convention Center, as part of Partnership Tower at 701 Avenida de las Americas. Entrances for the garage can be found on both Capitol St. (going north) and Rusk St. (going south).

Avenida Central Garage

Located at 1002 Avenida de las Americas, along Discovery Green, Avenida Central is an underground garage offering 663 parking spaces with easy access to Avenida Plaza and Discovery Green.

Avenida South Garage

Connected to the Hilton Americas-Houston hotel and convention center, Avenida South is a 1,425-car garage located at 1710 Polk St.

Tundra Garage

Boasting 2,478 parking spaces and on the south side of Avenida Houston is the Tundra Garage. It connects its parking options to the Toyota Center, home of the Houston Rockets and various concerts and events. Just a short walk from the plaza, it is located at 1515 Jackson St.  

Pricing varies per event. 

ADA-accessible parking spaces are available in all parking garages and most surface lots.

Transportation Options

Houston Metro Rail

If you don’t want to park to enjoy your time in Avenida Houston, there are several various alternatives.

METRO Rail

The recent installments of light rail stops at Avenida Houston have expanded the destinations you can get to without a car. Stations are located to the north of the Marriott Marquis on Rusk Street and North of Partnership Tower on Capitol Street The two lines that run by Avenida are the Purple and Green lines.

You can head east to explore the Greater East End and EaDo with PNC Stadium, various murals and delicious food. Heading north will take you to downtown Houston and various dining, nightlife, theater and entertainment options.

Additionally, you can ride the Red Line from downtown on Main Streer through the Museum District, Medical Center, all the way to NRG Park to catch a show, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and a Texans game. Tickets cost $1.25 (one-way) and can be purchased using cash or credit at all rail stops. METRORail hours are:

  • 4:30am - 11:40pm (M-TH)
  • 4:30am - 2:20am (F)
  • 5:30am - 2:20am (SAT)
  • 5:30am - 11:40pm (SUN)  
METRO Bus

Along with light rail, METRO buses can take you all around the city for a low fare. To search route information, click here.

Uber / Lyft

Just pick your pick up and drop off location and go with Uber or Lyft. The ride-sharing services offers local drivers to get you from point A to B at your convenience. Uber also offers a flat rate from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at $7.31 within the I-610 loop and the Galleria/Uptown area.

Taxi

At any hotel in Avenida Houston, you can easily call a cab. You can also request by location using the Yellow Cab app.

Bcycle

If you're wanting to explore Houston on two wheels, you can rent a Bcycle! With a location at Crawford and Lamar, Crawford and Rusk, and many other locations around the city, you can borrow a bike for a few hours or the whole day. Explore the rest of downtown, Buffalo Bayou and more!
