Tour de Houston

April 4, 2027. The 20th annual Tour de Houston returns with a newly designed route and three ride distances for cyclists of all ages and experience levels. The annual event celebrates Houston’s diverse neighborhoods while supporting local environmental efforts, having raised $1.3 million to fund tree planting in Houston parks since its inception.

Event Overview

• Location: The ride begins at Avenida Plaza in front of the George R. Brown Convention Center and finishes with a festival at Discovery Green.
• Route: Developed in partnership with Bike Houston and MS 150 ride marshals, the updated course takes cyclists through Downtown Houston, Midtown, the Museum District, the Medical Center, and surrounding neighborhoods, with longer routes extending along Braeswood Bayou and through southwest Houston.

Ride Options

• 45-Mile Training Ride: Designed for cyclists preparing for the MS 150 in late April, this route continues through Meyerland, South Gessner Drive, and Westbury before returning downtown.
• 20-Mile Intermediate Ride: Ideal for experienced cyclists and fitness enthusiasts, this route travels through the Medical Center, passes NRG Stadium, and follows Braeswood Bayou through Braeswood Place.
• 10-Mile Family Ride: A welcoming option for riders of all ages and skill levels, this route passes through Midtown and the Museum District, skirts the Medical Center, and returns to Discovery Green.

Post-Ride Celebration

After completing their ride, participants can enjoy a festival at Discovery Green, bringing the cycling community together to celebrate the day. The event combines outdoor recreation, neighborhood exploration, and support for Houston’s green spaces.
