Where to eat
On the ground floor of the Marquis, five dining spots await you. Along Avenida de las Americas, and overlooking the 12-acre Discovery Green park, Biggio’s Sports Bar is an Astros’ fan-favorite, named after former player and hall-of-fame member Craig Biggio. Inside, guests will find an array of televisions and projection screens, allowing you to catch every second of the game. A diverse beer list and pub food favorites, it’s a fan-favorite before and after the game.
Across from Biggio's is Walker Street Kitchen, where you’ll find Texas countryside-style fare in an elegant space. Be sure to check their times, since the restaurant has set hours for each meal of the day. Across the hotel, you can fuel up in the morning at Texas T, brewing Starbucks coffee and serving up morning breakfast tacos and a wide variety of delicious pastries. Cueva is the ground-floor wine bar, where you can find over 200 wines from around the world, along with creative cocktails and small plates.
For a high-class experience, head to Xochi, passion project of James Beard Award-winning chef Hugo Ortega. With indoor and outdoor seating, you’ll find delicious food that celebrates the culinary and indigenous richness of Oaxaca, Mexico and its varied geographic regions. Just a short walk from the Marriott Marquis, you will find yourself at any one of the three professional sporting venues in and around Avenida Houston. In Minute Maid Park, the Houston Astros continue to bring in crowds of fans, while soccer fans cheer on the Houston Dynamo and Houston Dash at BBVA Compass Stadium. The Marquis offers easy light rail access on both Green and Purple lines, which can connect you to many EaDo, East End and Downtown destinations.
